5 easy peasy ways to BeAuTiFuL sMiLeS
Hey there! Good morning! I couldn't go back to sleep when I woke up this morning so I thought I'd write this. Oh goodness it's early! I am getting ready to head into the dental office. My first patient is at 7:00 A.M. Up and at 'em!
I'm filling in a few days for my good friend and hygienist, Stacy this summa, so she can be present with her 3 kids. In her dental operatory she has the cutest photo frame that her kid(s) made her! It says on the frame that she is the best mom ever with a picture of her three kids. So precious.
Thanks Beaumont Family Dentistry for allowing us to do what we do and be mommas. I know not all can take time off but I love how others can work together to make things happen.
On another note- this rain has got to GO here in KY(haha) Under my deck & Trampoline it's so muddy and my dog choses to just roll in it all the time!
Okay, lets get to the point of this blog title! I truly think there are 5 secrets to a beautiful smile and that it's truly important. Before I had kids I worked for a dentist who did a dental make over on a patient every year and it was amazing to see how someones smile being changed could just improve their health and confidence.
So, a lot of you have followed along since I've been sharing my blog for the last 2.5 years and I think this blog post kinda brings everything together in relation to health and dentistry. Maybe you'll see or understand after reading this...
1: Healthy eating habits-
a. limiting sugary foods & drinks- the more acidic your mouth is, the higher risk you have for cavities
b. eating more crunchy foods like carrots, celery and apples- eating crunchy foods will actually stimulate saliva in your mouth, therefor wash away more debris and reduce your risk for cavities
c. eating calcium rich foods- calcium is great for building strong teeth
d. Just drink more water and drink dark drinks with a straw!:)
2. Get you a tongue scraper-
Our tongue harbors more bacteria than any other place in our mouth and a scraper will clean so much more of your tongue than your tooth brush can get.
Also maintain that good daily oral hygiene with your brush and floss!
3. Maintain a positive attitude-
Trying to cultivate a positive outlook on life will make your smile even more beautiful!
This can be done by focusing on the good and being mindful of what you are grateful for.
Or being mindful of how God has blessed you no matter what you are going through. :) <3
4. Due to what I do at the dental office this one is evident but needs to be said-- Come in for proper dental cleanings! When you come in for dental cleanings on a normal basis, early detection happens and cavities can be found before they get too large and then an extraction is needed or a root canal.
When cleanings are performed we can also help show you how to have healthy gums leading to beautiful smiles. When you have red and bleeding gums that's a sign of an issue and this can lead to tooth loss and bad breath.
5. Create reminders to smile-
Some may be reading this and you have beautiful teeth but you just don't smile often... well...
Whether you need to put reminders on your phone or make a list of what you want to smile more about, do it. It works.
Okay this is getting long and I bet I'm boring you! I also need to get in the shower & get ready for the day. I'll post a picture to my story of my scrubs today in just a bit!
I hope you all have the best day.
Go all in with Jesus leading your day!
God is Love!
XOXO,
Shanda Rhea
