Touching Lives

Hey there! Let's just start out with how unwise I can be at times. No one is perfect but we can either learn from others/mentors or we just learn as we go. This helps us become wiser. I've asked a lot of questions as I've gone through life and especially on raising kids. I've asked a lot! Read a lot! I do not know everything but one thing I do know is technology has changed our world. The phone technology.

I want to keep this blog post short and not drag it out but it's really hard because we have so much technology accessible at our fingertips. Do you agree?

Touching lives... what's that mean? It means that we don't pick up the phone and call people anymore. (and listen-some may do this and good for you- love it) We don't sit in the moment and watch the sunrise and forget about the phone.  We don't just go show up at a friends door step and have a good conversation. I remember as a 5 year old little girl- I would go over to my neighbors house and visit with her when my mom wasn't paying attention. ;) We called her granny because she was older and just the best lady. The Cynthiana neighborhood knew her as "Granny"(Verda Price was her name- she was the best lady)
I didn't get a cell phone until I was 16 years old and we barely texted back then.
Today, everyone texts and yes it's okay and it's great but I believe we have taken it too far. We expect others to answer quickly and if they don't we think something is wrong. I've been guilty of that too.

Some people can multitask much better than others, but from my personal experience it's hard to focus on your phone all the time.
I definitely think God has so many more intentions when it comes to life than the focus of responding back to a message. ( trust me there are definitely emergencies and those should be answered)
I think this goes back to my blog post about being patient and finding peace in single motherhood. For others- this may be finding peace in other parts of your life such single fatherhood, singleness in general and just in normal life. I feel as if we are all in a rush to do this and that.

Let's not be that way.
This may sound really different for some but I think technology is so wonderful to share your location with someone you know and care about... Have you ever thought about just sharing your location and then saying, "hey if you want to find me you know where I am?" haha!

See how that works for you and maybe it might surprise you.
Go dance around and enjoy life!

Have a great Monday night!!!
xoxo
