Gettin' crafty over here

Hey there! Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I also hope that who ever out there that has kids, their first day back to school went well. I think this topic of my blog hits well since school is starting back and crafts can be part of school.
BTW- my front door and front steps in this picture is definitely not super picture perfect and I do want to do some renovations one day(possibly install a double door, etc), but I've said in one of my blogs before that I'm not always out to get the best looking photo. Yes, professional photos are great and I've had them done, but my mothers helper took this photo and it works for my blog. :)
Okay, so back to crafting- did you know crafting stimulates the feel good neurotransmitter that is responsible for pleasure and enjoyment? Crafting also has been proven to improve mental agility.
I remember as a kid making scrapbooks! I was so into those! My scrapbooks were nothing great but I loved taking pictures from my life and making a book out of it. I'll have to show you sometime.

I have some crafts ideas for you today!
Right now, this is what we have been doing in our home and maybe it will give you an idea whether you're a new parent, been a parent for a long time, if you're a nanny(mothers helper) or a grandparent!

Many of the items we used for our crafts either came from Michaels or the Dollar Tree! The Dollar Tree is the best!

Above: Here's Aria making some rocks with this kit we got from Michaels. I love this because these are something I can set outside my house and be reminded of something my kids made.
Here's the link for this kit:

Today, the girls and I went to Michaels and I let them pick out some items that they could paint or stick on a canvas! Above- they are using their own imaginations and making their own creations! Now, we can let these dry and I have a wall in my house that I hang their creations!
Here's the link for the pack of canvases from Michaels:

Lastly, I love this easel! Before my divorce we had one of these and my kids absolutely loved it!
We just got this one and we are gettin' back at it! :)

This easel has a dry erase board, a chalk board and clips that hold up paper for the kids to draw something on. My kids also were able to set up the canvas board on the ledge of this easel and paint standing up. It's a great addition. You can do so much with it!
Link to order easel and it's on sale:

Well, I'm going to go now! Hope you all have a great weekend! Send me some more ideas of some blogs you'd like to see in the future. :)
Also, my son isn't in any of these photos because he already started school!

XOXO,
Shanda Rhea
